Louisa Jane Burns – d. 1921
There is a plaque dedicated to the memory of Louisa Jane Burns but all it tells us is that she died on August 4th, 1921 and that it was installed by her nieces and/or nephews.
Louisa is believed to have been born in Rawdon, Montcalm, and is listed as living in Montreal at the time of the 1881 and 1891 censuses. She was living on Mackay Street in 1871. It is believed that she worked as a druggist.
Louisa’s father George was born in Rawdon and her mother was Hannah (or Anna) of Irish descent and was presbyterian. Louisa’s mother’s maiden name was Plowright.
In 1871 other children are listed as Alan 12, Amy 9, and Edith 3 mo. Mother Hannah is believed to have died when Edith was about 5 (1873).
